What would the world be like without art? Boring? Bland? Black and white? It’s becoming more difficult to imagine a world without it when considering its progression over the decades. It’s all around us and it isn’t just painting and drawing. It has become a sense of indulgence in the form of expression. We can hear it, see it, say it, touch it, and feel it. More than what it once was, art is always evolving, challenging ingenuity, and redefining what it means to be an artist. But what does it take to create a successful artist?
Making a name for yourself as an artist can come across as intimidating, especially in a digital age dependant on constant visual stimulation. And if an artist lacks a strong foundation, they may have trouble succeeding.
Raw: Natural Born Artists is an independent arts organization that provides independent artists with the tools, resources and exposure needed to inspire them to succeed. RAW Directors hand-pick and spotlight local artists in fashion, music, visual art, performing art, hair & make-up artistry and more. Attending a Raw event will expose you to an independent film, a fashion show from an up-and-coming local designer, a musical performance, an art gallery featuring several independent visual artists and photographers, and performance art.
Heidi Luerra organized the first RAW showcase in Los Angeles back in 2005. Eight years later, RAW has become a successful organization that showcases nine different genres of art, and has representatives in over 55 cities in the U.S. and Australia, and will be launching in China and Europe this year.
This Thursday, Feburary 21st, RAW: Natural Born Artists presents Discovery. A brilliant showcase of over 30 handpicked creative and performing artists, including photographer Justin Novak, singer and songwriter Curt Quinn, artist Jane Kim, as well as a fashion show featuring nOia by Evelyne.
